Ludo: how a round works

An idea for your next attempt

Locate the buttons and input area before beginning a long round. Use the on-screen labels to avoid an accidental restart. Notice the feedback after each input.

The objective of a round

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. An attractive position is not enough unless the goal is met. Review the board or playing area as it changes.

A walkthrough of the rules

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

Keyboard and screen controls

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. A careful first action helps you become familiar with the layout. Use one clear input at a time.

A useful example

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Notice the change in the playing area.

Where a round can go wrong

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Check the rule before repeating the action. Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board.
